The mash

The mash is where the enzymes in the malted barley convert starches into sugar.

The boil

Boiling the wort (liquid created by the mash) concentrates the sugars. Hops added during the boil add the bitterness that makes beer taste great!

Fermentation

After cooling to room temperature, yeast is added. The yeast eats the sugar and produces carbon dioxide and alcohol.

Now its beer!

By far the best part. Homebrew can now be shared for everyone's enjoyment.
